There are different sports to play in Cardiff, like rugby. There is a team called Cardiff City F.C. There is also a Cricket Club (formed in 1819) and the Arena for public ice skating and ice hockey. There are a lot of famous writers like Roald Dahl, Peter Finch, Howard Spring, Gillian Clarke and a lot more. What transformed Cardiff into a big city was the demand for coal, then they made iron and later steel, transported by a ship. Cardiff's port, known as Tiger Bay, became, for some time, the world's most important coal port.
